Justice Slaughter and Governor Mike Pence

Governor Mike Pence has named Geoffrey G. Slaughter as the 109th Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. Mr. Slaughter was one of three finalists for the position on the state’s high court after the April retirement of Justice Brent E. Dickson. A recent study by the American Bar Association and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation confirms what many in our profession have long suspected: lawyers suffer from mental health and substance use issues at a higher rate than the general population and other professionals.
