Each year, the Indiana Supreme Court and the Office of Judicial Administration (OJA) distribute state and federal grant funding to courts and justice partners across Indiana. These investments help strengthen local court operations, expand access to justice, and support programs that improve outcomes for Indiana communities.
In Fiscal Year 2025-2026, OJA distributed more than $22.7 million in grant funding across Indiana’s counties through various grant programs supporting a wide range of court and community initiatives.

Distribution by Program
Thirteen grant programs provide critical support for court services, treatment programs, language access, guardians ad litem, family court initiatives, pretrial services, and other justice system improvements.
The top 5 programs accounted for roughly 90% of all grant funding distributed statewide:
- Problem-Solving Courts spent the largest share of funding at $6.1 million (27.0%) to support veterans, family recovery, and similar types of courts.
- GAL/CASA programs spent $5.3 million (23.4%), supporting court-appointed advocates for children involved in abuse and neglect cases.
- Pretrial Services spent $4.5 million (19.7%) to support evidence-based pretrial practices and services across Indiana.
- SIM/JPAR spent $3 million (13.5%) to support collaborative justice and behavioral health initiatives that improve outcomes for individuals with substance use and mental health needs.
- VASIA spent $1.3 million (5.8%), supporting programs that recruit, train, and support volunteers who serve as advocates for vulnerable adults.
