The Arc of Indiana honored Judge Gregory Horn, Wayne County Superior Court, with The Arc’s Community Involvement Award at their annual Appreciation Luncheon on December 4, 2015 for his support and dedication to guardianship services for people with disabilities in east central Indiana.
Judge Horn’s efforts to initiate a county-wide guardianship program date back to 2009, when he called together other judges, attorneys, adult protective services, nursing home administrators, and representatives from mental health and hospital programs.
Fellow judge Charles Todd wrote in his nomination, “Greg’s work ethic is legendary and is based on a simple premise, he flat out cares about what he does and how it effects the lives of others. He spends many, many hours beyond the courthouse and no task is beneath him.”
The Arc of Indiana was established in 1956 by parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who joined together to build a better and more accepting world for their children.
Today, the combined strength of local Arcs, state Arcs and The Arc of the United States makes The Arc the largest national community-based organization advocating for and serving people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
