The 19th convening of the Indiana Conference for Legal Education (ICLEO) Summer Institute took place at Notre Dame Law School, June 4 – July 17, 2015.
Since the establishment of ICLEO in 1997 by then Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard, 520 students have participated in the Summer Institute which is hosted each summer by an Indiana law school.
The ICLEO Fellowship is designed to assist minority, low-income, and educationally disadvantaged students pursue a law degree and legal career in Indiana. The Summer Institute curriculum places a strong emphasis on academic rigor, but also provides students with a significant network and support system through professional development programming, field visits, and social events. Participants in the 2015 Summer Institute visited the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, a juvenile detention facility, and met with various legal professionals in Northern Indiana.
Once enrolled in an Indiana law school, ICLEO Fellows receive an annual education award to offset the costs of their law school tuition. Applications for the 2016 ICLEO Fellowship & Summer Institute are available on the program website.
