Two leaders of the Supreme Court’s Division of State Court Administration (Division) shared updates about trial court technology and revisions to the expungement statute with about two hundred ninety Circuit Court Clerks and clerk staff at the State Board of Accounts’ County Clerks Conference.
Mary DePrez, Director and Counsel for Trial Court Technology, and Jeff Wiese, Director of Trial Court Management, made their remarks on June 11 at the annual conference.
Mary’s presentation focused on the updates to the various applications that the Division’s technology staff has developed and supports including the electronic transmittal of SR-16s to the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, the electronic citation and warning application, the Protection Order Registry, and the Marriage License e-filing application.
Jeff discussed the recent amendments to the Expungement statute (H.E.A. 1155), confidentiality of juvenile paternity cases (S.E.A. 19), what entries should and should not be made in the judgment docket book (H.E.A. 1347), and what felony case types to use after July 1 (H.E.A. 1006).
The Division would like to thank Tammy White and Debra Gibson with the State Board of Accounts and the officers of the Association of Clerks of Circuit Courts of Indiana for inviting its staff to be a part of this seminar.
