The Indiana Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Tax Court have launched a plan to implement the Odyssey Case Management System (CMS) in their courts. With support from the trial court technology staff at the Division of State Court Administration, Indiana appellate courts are being added to the statewide CMS that is currently used for over half of all new case filings statewide.
The Odyssey CMS will provide the appellate courts with a modern platform that supports integrated document management and can effectively connect with e-filing services. Odyssey will replace a custom-built CMS that has been in use for over twenty-seven years that would be unsuitable for the way the appellate courts’ plan to conduct business in the future.
In 2007, the Indiana Supreme Court selected the Odyssey CMS upon the recommendation of three review committees which oversaw a ten-month procurement process. As of this writing, 199 courts in 48 counties are managing their dockets with the Odyssey CMS. By the end of 2014, the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and Tax Court will be added to the growing list of courts using Odyssey CMS.
