Lisa Plencner has been selected as the recipient of the Liberty Bell Award from the Indiana State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. Founded in 1896, the Indiana State Bar Association (ISBA) is the single largest legal organization in the state. The award was presented at the State Bar’s annual meeting in French Lick on Oct. 17th.
Plencner has been the Court Administrator for the St. Joseph Circuit Court for nine years. She also worked as a felony secretary with the St. Joseph County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office and as a deputy clerk for the St. Joseph County Clerk’s Office. Lisa attended Loyola University-Chicago and Indiana University-Bloomington. She received her paralegal certificate from Indiana University-South Bend.
She has been actively involved in her local community, where she currently serves as Vice-President of the South Bend League of Women Voters. Lisa previously served as President for five consecutive years. She is also active with the United States League of Women Voters (Ruth S. Shur Fellow); Unity Gardens (board member); and the District B Volunteer Lawyer Network. Additionally, Plencner is the coordinator for the “We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution” school program.
