Chief Justice Randall T. Shepard
South Bend—University of Notre Dame at this year’s Commencement exercises awarded Chief Justice Shepard with an Honorary Degree. Evansville—Chief Justice Shepard delivered the Commencement Address to the 2009 graduates of the University of Evansville and he was awarded an Honorary Degree.
Justice Robert D. Rucker
Valparaiso—Justice Rucker served as the Commencement Speaker for the 2009 Valparaiso University School of Law graduation ceremonies. He received his Law Degree from there in 1976 and received his Masters of Law Degree from the University of Virginia Law School.
Judge David A. Happe
Governor Mitch Daniels on May 14 appointed David A. Happe, an Anderson lawyer in private practice at Lockwood Williams & Happe, as Judge of Madison Superior Court IV to succeed Judge David W. Hopper who passed away on February 25. He has previously served as corporation counsel for the city of Anderson and as chief administrative public defender for Madison County. He is a member of the Indiana Public Defender Council and the Indiana State Bar Association. Happe received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his law degree from Indiana University School of Law – Indianapolis.
State Senator Brent Steele
Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore, David Long, appointed Senator Brent Steele of Bedford to the Indiana Public Defender Commission. He replaces Senator Joe Zakas, who had served on the Commission since 2004. Steele represents Senate District 44, and is Chairman of the Senate Corrections, Criminal & Civil Matters Committee. He also serves on the Senate Judiciary, Ethics and Insurance & Financial Institutions committees. Mr. Steele practices law at the firm of Steele & Steele, LLC in his hometown.
Teresa Payne
Teresa Payne joined the Supreme Court Division of State Court Administration, Appellate Court Technology team as its first Business Analyst. Teresa has broad experience in software development and business analysis for corporations and the federal government, including projects supporting sea launched cruise missiles, aircraft, food & beverages, and financial services. Teresa earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Purdue University and has spent time with various companies in the Washington, D.C., area as well in St. Louis and Indianapolis.
Trevor Moore
Trevor Moore is a new addition to Jim Walker’s Trial Court Management section. Trevor comes from the Atlanta, Georgia where he was a professional in the banking industry. Trevor most recently worked for SunTrust bank as a business continuity planner. He will be performing that same function now for the Indiana courts. One of Trevor’s primary strengths is the ability to analyze and then improve a wide variety of business processes.
John Johnson
John Johnson serves as a JTAC Business Analyst, working on trouble-shooting hardware and connectivity issues in Odyssey. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Information Technology from Purdue, followed by a Bachelor Degree in general studies from Indiana University, which he earned online while serving in the U.S. Army. John provided technical support services and business analysis for several companies and then worked as the Administrator for Shelby County Government operations.
Armindo Ruivo
Armindo Ruivo is a JTAC Senior Support Specialist and also a military veteran. He works in IT troubleshooting, problem-solving and end-user training, all areas in which he has extensive knowledge. He earned his Computer Information Systems BA from the University of Hawaii while serving in the Navy. Prior to joining JTAC Armindo worked for the Indiana Department of Health and was responsible for maintenance of a major system database serving over 900 pharmacies.
Maurice Perkins
Maurice Perkins works on the JTAC Help Desk. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a concentration in Information Technology, where he was a scholarship football player. While attending school, Maurice was part of the Best Buy Geek Squad, responsible for resolving problems with Windows. He also then provided Help Desk and customer support technical services for Baker Hill corporation.
Daryl Stites
Daryl Stites is a JTAC Web Application Developer and if you meet him he will undoubtedly have a smile on his face. He is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Systems while working at JTAC. He is part of the web development team and has already provided benefits to the courts by developing and improving several web and internet functions, including the online broadcast of oral arguments, an AR7 retention schedule, and a new court date calculator.
Brian Steinke
Brian Steinke is the new JTAC Interface Manager. Brian began in accounting but moved to the technology field. He worked for ten years as a business analyst at Bureau of Motor Vehicles before coming to JTAC. He provided valuable leadership in working to implement the timely start-up of the Odyssey program by mapping out the processes of Marion County’s existing internet and phone payments system.
Paula Mikesell
Paula Mikesell is another new addition to the JTAC Help Desk team. She worked many years at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, continually advancing in position and skills beginning as a customer service representative at a branch office and eventually as a branch manager. When she left BMV to work as a contractor for JTAC, Paula performed CMS testing for Odyssey patches and helped perform the test for the INcite marriage license application, as well as receiving and answering calls for both INcite and Odyssey.
