Highlights from the 2007 Indiana Judicial Service Report

December 31, 2008

IJS Executive Summary coverAfter thirty years of featuring court data, the 2007 Indiana Judicial Service Report is the first annual judicial report based entirely on an automated data gathering process.  With the help of the innovative talents of the Division of State Court Administration’s JTAC (Judicial Technology and Automation Committee) staff, trial courts can now prepare all the required reports via the Internet by using the Supreme Court’s InCite portal, which hosts many other applications such as the Indiana Protection Order Registry (POR) and the electronic Citation and Warning System (eCWS).
The speedier and more accurate transmission of information has enabled the Division to produce a more timely annual report, to evaluate the information and to explore trends.  A quick look at the 2007 data reveals several interesting highlights, which are listed below.  Except where otherwise indicated, all figures reflect 2007 data.
